The Friends of John Ray Infants and Juniors exists not only to raise funds for both the Infant and Junior School, but to provide closer links between home and school. It is an excellent way was to bring staff, parents and children together socially, working towards a common goal. Funds raised over the years have been spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education and part-funding school trips. We are a member of the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations (NCPTA) and you can find us on Facebook.
We have a lot of fun in our PTA, we hold alternate meetings during the day at school and at the pub in the evenings to enable all parents to attend if they wish. Events organized this year include:

Infants Christmas Fayre
Summer Inflatables Event
Quiz and a Zumba Evening
Termly Discos for the children
Year 2 and Year 6 Leavers Events.
Ice-cream and plants sales

Funds have been spent on:
Funding for coaches for school trips
New Playground Equipment
New Books
New CD Players

We always endeavour to spend our funds in ways that will benefit all the current children across all areas of the school and curriculum. Although it is one PTA across both schools, the funds are fairly distributed according to where the money was raised.

The PTA are always looking for new members whether to serve on the committee or to serve sausages at the Summer Fete, so if you would like to help in any way and make some friends throughout the school, please leave your details at the School Office.
